Southern Pacific 9735 At Corona, New Mexico - 6/2000

  • Canon T90, Canon 80-200mm f4L, Fuji Provia 100F
  • SP 9735 leads a freight through Corona, New Mexico on the remains of the old Golden State Route. Gone are the semaphores, gone are the DTC blocks. It's just another high speed, efficient Union Pacific mainline now. Oh well, that's progress :-(
Southern Pacific 222 East At Tolland, CO - 9/98

  • Mamiya C330 TLR, 105mm f4.5, Kodak E100SW
  • Just below the east portal of the Moffat Tunnel, SP 222 leads a coal load through the autumn colors of the Colorado high country. .
Southern Pacific at Toonerville, CO - 12/96

  • Minolta X700, 70-210mm f4, Kodachrome 64
  • An SP freight heads south on the Santa Fe seconday mainline that runs from Las Animas into the Oklahoma panhandle. This line is used primarly by BNSF coal trains heading for Oklahoma and Texas.
Southern Pacific 6511 At Omnitrax In Loveland, CO - 4/98

  • Canon T90, Canon 300mm f4, Kodak E200
  • Another new Espee unit rolls off the assembly line! All kidding aside, this poor unit sits at the Omnitrax loco rebuilding facility, waiting to be rebuild, or used as spare parts for another locomotive.
Southern Pacific Kodachrome 7357 Near Granite, Wyoming - 11/99

  • Canon T90, Canon 80-200mm f4L, Fuji Provia 100F
  • Poor old 7357 heads east through Cheyenne to North Platte, where it will end up in the dead line.
Southern Pacific 8573 At Cheyenne, Wyoming - 9/99

  • Canon T90, Canon 80-200mm f4L, Fuji Provia 100F
  • SP tunnel motor 8573 works as a switcher in the Cheyenne yards.
