Chicago And Northwestern 853 At Chadron, NE - 11/87

- The next few photographs are a series shot at and near Chadron, NE on
the C&NW "Cowboy" line. In this photo, GP18 853 and sisters are putting
together the daily eastbound freight in the Chadron yard. Today, the
C&NW is but a memory and the "Cowboy" is all but dismantled, with only
a portion of the line operated east of Chadron by the Nebkota railroad.

Chadron Hill. Darkness will soon fall and the train will continue
it's lonely trip across the Sandhills of Nebraska.
