The Longmont Local creeps by the yearly trackwork for the new siding at Highland. BNSF has been building this siding for at least 5-6 years. They generally attack it for about 2 weeks, then quit working on it for a year. This year, 2004, the rails are in place, the switches are in place, and all that is left is a short piece of track to cross the county road at the west end. Work appears to have ended again, so maybe next year??
